Ingram's own self-publishing arm: the print-on-demand and distribution platform Ingram sells to authors and small publishers. Ingram is the wholesaler most bookshops and many library suppliers order through, and an IngramSpark account is how an author-publisher gets a print book into that catalog. It is a paid service arm, not a neutral utility: IngramSpark's pricing page says signing up and uploading cost nothing, and the money is in printing, shipping, and the optional services it sells alongside them.

Why it matters to you
Not every author needs one. If your readers buy on Amazon, you can publish without it. If you want a bookshop or a library to be able to order the print book through the wholesaler they already use, it is the usual route, and Amazon's own Expanded Distribution reaches part of the same trade with its own trade-offs.
