Aggregator
Also known as: Ebook aggregator, Ebook distributor, Audiobook aggregator
One account that delivers your ebook or audiobook to many stores and library services at once, and collects the metadata and the payments in one place. Draft2Digital is one, and the Smashwords store is now among the channels Draft2Digital lists on its own partners page; PublishDrive is another. An ebook aggregator is how an author-publisher reaches Apple Books, Kobo, Barnes & Noble, and the ebook services libraries lend through, without opening an account with each of them.

Why it matters to you
Amazon sells Kindle ebooks and nothing else. If you want the ebook anywhere Amazon does not reach, this is normally the one account that gets you there. Aggregators take a share of each sale and some charge account fees, so read the current terms on their own page before choosing one.
