Early access. These directories are new and still growing. A listing marked Unverified is basic information from public professional sources; the person can confirm, correct, claim, or remove it at any time.
Book Distributors & Wholesalers
Find out who would carry your book.
The companies that get a book into shops, libraries and gift accounts: full-service distributors, wholesalers, marketplaces and fulfillment providers, with what each one says about taking a single book or a small press, what it does, how it is paid, and how to approach it. Every answer is the company's own public wording, with the page it was read off and the day we read it. A listing isn't a recommendation.
A distributor usually becomes the publisher's trade vendor and may actively sell the list. A wholesaler consolidates books for retailer and library buyers and usually does not sell the publisher's list. A fulfillment provider stores and ships books and does not create trade demand, which is the one to read twice before signing anything.

What has changed in distribution
Distribution relationships change often, and a company that has closed or been bought is the one an out-of-date list will still send you to. Each line below carries the date it was announced or took effect and the page it was read off, so you can check it yourself.
Baker & Taylor Publisher Services acquired by Lakeside Book Company
Announced 2025-11-21
Do not treat Baker & Taylor Publisher Services as a separate current distribution option; its distribution business moved into Lakeside.
Stable Distribution launched with Hachette logistics
Operations began January 2026
Adds a newer independent-focused full-service distribution option backed by Hachette warehousing and fulfillment.
Small Press Distribution closed
2024
Many literary presses moved to Asterism, Itasca, Independent Publishers Group and other providers. Small Press Distribution should not appear as an active option.
Midpoint is now a division of Independent Publishers Group
Since 2018
Avoid counting it twice as an unrelated distribution network.
Publishers Group West, Consortium and Two Rivers are under Ingram Publisher Services
Current
They are distinct sales and distribution brands, and they share Ingram infrastructure.
Companies that have closed or moved into another business are named here and have no listing of their own, because a listing reads as a choice you could still make.
A listing isn't a recommendation and nobody pays to appear. Every answer below is the company's own public wording, with the page it was read off and the day we read it. Where a company has not said, we leave the answer out: a blank here never means no.
Blank or unclear answers are left blank on purpose. A company that has not published a policy has not refused one, and reading silence as a refusal would put a claim on their page that nobody made.
One book or self-published means the company publicly appears open to an author or a one-title publisher. It does not mean every title is accepted.
We publish how a company says it is paid, never how much. The current figure is on their own page and nowhere else.
Basic listings are free and always will be. Being listed is not a recommendation, and nobody pays to appear.
